Tuesday

Logo of the day:

"Hey Aaron, did I ever tell you about Night Church that a bunch of folks do together? We ride up in Forest Park on Tuesday nights. Super fun. We need a logo... something black and white and metal. Are ya interesting in whipping something up?”

Well I whipped something up for these dirty fellas. Though I'm too slow to roll on bicycles with these fasties, I'm happy to have been part of the design sidelines of it all.

Was asked to design the running shirt for this year's "Running Wild in Cordova, AK" event. Had fun with it and, as a runner, am proud to be part of it all.

Tuesday

Shirts of the day:

Stoked to work with killer bands like Xibalba and Nuclear Death Terror (wondrous illustrations for NDT by Hush)

Monday

Shirts of the day:

Adding to their ever-growing catalog of sonic enormity, I am extremely pleased to announce my shirt designs for the reissue of The Art Of Self Defense, the classic first recording from Oakland power trio High on Fire.

Happy? Yup, that's me... very happy.
"The Art Of Self Defense was initially released in 2000 by Man’s Ruin Records. Featuring the collective energies of guitarist/vocalist Matt Pike, drummer Des Kensel, and bassist George Rice with producer Billy Anderson, the record billows at the seams with Pike’s instantly recognizable guitar tone, first unleashed during his days with stoner metal behemoths Sleep. An audio hail storm of piledriving riffs, booming rhythms and Pike’s gruff vocal tirades, The Art Of Self Defense remains a staple in High on Fire’s renowned catalog of audio greatness."

LP + shirt of the day:

One of my most favorite 2-piece bands, Eagle Twin, is about to release this incredible sonic punishment. Stoked to have been the designer for this project, it really is an honor...

Thursday

CD of the day:

Nuclear Death Terror is an amazing, metallic, crust punk legend from Denmark. I recently put together the layout for Chaos Reigns, a compilation of tracks that were recently released on vinyl only and a few merch designs... to be devoured by fiends of Tragedy, Doom, Amebix, Slayer and Discharge. Wondrous illustrations for this by Hush. Out on Southern Lord!

Wednesday

CD of the day:

Very excited to have designed Xibalba's CD layout for their anticipated sophomore LP, Hasta La Muerte, via Southern Lord Records. The new album is already reaping mass praise from media outlets internationally, the band’s intense style infusing some most doom-ridden tones one will experience within the hardcore genre with unstoppable force. Dan Seagrave's painting for this release is soo impressive. Love it!

Tuesday

CD of the day:

My life has it's radical moments, for sure. Like designing the newest in a series of reissues from Portland’s Poison Idea, via Southern Lord... the CD version of The Fatal Erection Years.
"This compilation collects the Pick Your King 7”, Record Collectors Are Pretentious Assholes LP, and 4 compilation tracks from the era. Exclusive to this CD version, is the entire live set from the band at their best in Portland circa 1983. Live at the Met features 19 live, raw punk blasts and effectively brings this essential archival document to a raucous, destructive end. The audio has been remastered and restored by Jack Control (World Burns to Death, Severed Head of State), and the poster/booklet contains liner notes from Poison Idea vocalist Jerry A, and tons of photos, flyers and more from the band’s early days. A must have for the die-hard fans and any fan of true hardcore, punk rock!"
